Sir, – Borrowing £400.000 from Wonga at its standard rate for seven years would leave the borrower owing Wonga Britain's national debt.
How does the ignorance of these desperate borrowers compare to the ignorance of North Yorkshire County Council which, against the wishes of its electorate and advice from the Government (which withdrew funding after research found the project over priced and not good enough), has still committed council taxpayers to pay off their £75,000,000.00 loan over 25 years to a Spanish-made and run waste incinerator.
These councillors do not mention the inevitable add-on costs and interest rates do they?
They compare well to Wonga borrowers except it differs in that it is the council tax payers who will have to fund the consequences of their stupidity and crass ignorance.
