Sir, – ‘Brilliant’ sums up the immensely enjoyable production of Glass, Ken Skrzesz’s contemporary interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass I recently saw at the Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond.

Ken, teacher specialist in performing and visual arts magnet program at Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Maryland, rehearsed for less than a week with 20 students from Maryland and students from our own Georgian Theatre Youth Theatre.

Ken wrote, choreographed and produced Glass in less than a week and the results were fantastic. The Georgian Theatre Stage played host to considerable talent from both sides of the Atlantic. The students were well-rehearsed and sang and acted without fault, and their timing was impeccable.

This was such a great take on Lewis Carroll’s story that I didn’t want it to end.

The link between the Anne Arundel Schools and the Georgian Theatre was established last year, and it is a testament to both that the link has produced such a wonderful production.

I hope we shall have the pleasure of welcoming Ken and his students back to the Maryland Study Centre at Kiplin Hall next year for another performance on the stage of the Georgian Theatre. Thank you to all involved.
