Sir, – I thank Patricia Rivers and Cllr Paul Rummery for contributing to the Skeeby debate.
Patricia says the bumps are not doing what was intended. Paul says they are.
Paul's letter is interesting in how it is worded and what it leaves out.
At the 2009 meeting of about 80 who attended 20 were "allowed" to talk, I know some
who were not. He glosses over Cllr Heseltine going against the majority view of the villagers.
Cllr Rummery says Matrix boards were requested and the request was refused.
He doesn't say who refused, so I am left to guess it was North Yorkshire Highways. His letter ends with: "The speed bumps have done the job they were designd to do".
That's to slow cars down to ten mph and allow HGVs and buses to speed at 40mph- plus.
