Sir, – I organise the annual Barn that Rocks charity concert near Patrick Brompton. I am very upset by the allegations in a letter last week which are both unfounded and mostly untrue.

The acoustics in the barn are not great, it is a grain store not the O2 arena and for that reason I employed a professional sound engineer. The sound was still not perfect for which I apologise to everyone and we will improve this next year.

Scott Adams did perform here that evening so I am puzzled how an announcement of his non appearance could have been made. Far from the building being emptied, over 600 people were in attendance at the height of the evening. No bands walked off after three songs as I can testify that I thoroughly enjoyed each of their performances of 40 minutes.

Our event this year has raised over £4,000 for Martin House Hospice and Yorkshire Cancer Research, with donations still coming in.

Over the past four years this amounts to an incredible £19,300 for various charities. This is only possible by a great deal of effort from my close family, friends and helpers. This is why I call it a success.
