Sir, – Do readers fancy a challenge in 2014 – something they can do as a family, group of friends or workmates?
Heart Research UK is a Yorkshirebased national charity that funds pioneering research into heart disease as well as encouraging people to live a heart-healthy lifestyle.
One of our biggest fundraisers of the year is our Yorkshire Three Peaks and Valleys challenge on June 21 where the iconic route in the Yorkshire Dales takes you up Pen-y- Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside – or a new scenic valleys route that follows a gentler walk beneath the peaks.
It’s free to enter and all we ask is that you raise as much as you can to help us in our work in the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease, still the UK’s biggest killer with nearly 80,000 deaths a year.
Heart Research UK will provide support along the way with plenty of help and advice, as well as being there on the day to assist and encourage.
By taking part readers will be getting plenty of exercise and fresh air, as well as raising money for a good cause.
Treatments for heart disease continue to develop but mortality rates are still too high and that’s why we need help from supporters to continue our work in helping hearts across the country.
