Sir, – I am writing with regards to an article in the D&S on Friday March 7 on page 13 whereby an assault on a lady was adjudged to have taken place outside the Conservative Club.
I have been requested on behalf of the officers and members of the club to state that any trouble that occurred on the night in question had absolutely nothing to do with the Conservative Club, which was closed for business on that particular evening at 12.30am.
