TWELVE companies have been shortlisted for Yorkshire Forward’s Innovator/10 awards.
They include Peratech Ltd,of Brompton on Swale, near Richmond, which formed a partnership with Leeds University to produce printable electronic switches and sensors.
Nature’s Laboratory, of Whitby, worked with the Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation to develop a water-soluble deodorised propolis – a resin collected by bees which they use by as an immune defence mechanism.
Bioflame Ltd, of Pickering, is also up for an award for its plant which converts 30,000 tonnes of low-grade biomass waste into 20,000 megawatt hours per year of electricity for the National Grid.
The winners of the four categories will be announced at an awards dinner at Leeds City Museum in March.
