Creamery appoints a commercial director

PETER Andrew has been appointed commercial director by The Wensleydale Creamery at Hawes.

The 43 year-old has a wealth of experience in the food and drink sector, including eight years with Dairy Crest.

David Hartley, the creamery's managing director, said Mr Andrew would help drive their development plans forward. He said: "Peter brings a breadth and depth of knowledge from his years working at a strategic level in a variety of retail, consumer and food sector businesses."

Mr Andrew said the creamery was a top quality company.

"My new role will involve ensuring the company capitalises on opportunities for growth and making sure that Real Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese becomes even more well-known for its excellence and provenance," he said.

"Another attraction is that working in a medium-sized business, like The Wensleydale Creamery, brings greater responsibility than working in a large corporation as any decisions have a more immediate effect and I am looking forward to being in a position where I can really make thinks happen."
