STARTING the new year with a new look is the Leyburn branch of a successful travel agents.

Established in 1983, Spear Travels is an independent travel agency in North Yorkshire.

Its head office is in Boroughbridge with 12 other branches in Northallerton, Leyburn, and throughout the UK and a number of home-based travel associates.

Last year, the company won best independent travel agent celebrating its fourth consecutive year of winning an award.

The Leyburn branch now has a new look about it, with a change of name to Spear Travels in line with the other branches, the office interior has also been given a make-over.

Having moved from the Boroughbridge branch where she worked for five years, Nicola Raw has been appointed the new manager at Leyburn. She joins Joanna Hay, and newly-appointed Michelle Brown, who are both senior travel consultants.

Between them, they have over 60 years’ experience in the travel business.

Ms Raw said: “It is really nice to be back in a community where I know so many people.

“We pride ourselves on our customer service and in return our customers are really friendly and often pop in to see us. We especially like to hear how their holiday went.”
