A POPULAR business networking organisation has received a cash boost from a council.

Thirsty Thursday, in Stokesley, has received the funding from Hambleton District Council to help the free networking group enhance what it offers and provide long-term sustainability.

The group, which was formed in 2014, meets every month and allows businesses and organisations in the town to exchange ideas and expertise, as well as promote their services, skills and opportunities.

It is organised by Anna Addison, who runs PR company Anna Addison Associates, and Sue Thompson, who runs Catch Design Management.

The money will be used to provide more speakers and more free, promotional opportunities for businesses.

Thirsty Thursday is held at The Mill on Springfield in Stokesley and is free to attend. The next event is on October 19.
