ONE of the region’s luxury four star hotels has again been voted one of the best by guests.

Gisborough Hall, on the outskirts of Guisborough, has been named as one of TripAdvisor’s top-rated places to stay in the North-East and North Yorkshire, gaining another Certificate of Excellence for exemplary standards and service.

To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

The hotel is also one of TripAdvisor’s ‘Green Leader’ award holders in recognition of its commitment to environmentally-friendly practices.

In April, Gisborough Hall became a fully-independent hotel for the first time since it opened in 2002 and, in the same month, was awarded the AA’s four ‘Silver Star’ rating for its overall quality and two AA Rosettes for its food.

Kim Yardley, general manager, said: “There is no greater seal of approval than being recognised by our customers and the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence is a remarkable vote of confidence to our continued business success and commitment to service excellence.”

Gisborough Hall dates back to 1857 and the grade II-listed country house was fully restored in 2002 following an investment of over £10m by Lord Gisborough and his family, who own the hotel.

The country hall employs 105 local people, and this will increase further with the creation of a new multi-million-pound spa which, it is hoped, will open by Christmas 2019.
