A DARLINGTON entrepreneur has secured a deal with a major music station to help promote his revolutionary social app.

Andrew Bartlett, founder of GoRoar, will have his creation promoted on Capital Radio as part of a new campaign.

The app, which links to Google Maps to show every bar, club and restaurant in the world, allows users to create and share plans with friends.

The former jockey has developed the app, which was previously known as Roar App, to include other features including flights, hotels, car parking, shopping facilities and youth hostels.

Mr Bartlett launched the app last year and has since included a new safety feature, following the death of Lee Brown, from Stockton, whose body was recovered in the Tees two weeks after going missing on a night out last year.

"It has been really fun to see things develop," he said. "It takes a while to build up, but we are hoping to get more venues subscribed.

"I have learnt so much about the market, but I am a positive person and I am just planning ahead."

The app is available from the App Store and on Google Play.
