A CENTURIES-old inn is now fit for the future following a £1m refurbishment.
The Golden Fleece in Thirsk is set to reopen today after 12-weeks of work that has completely transformed the tired interior.
The hotel, which dates back nearly 400 years, now boasts new eatery and coffee house concept and a new outside dining area complete with a pizza oven that will serve a selection of handmade pizzas throughout the week.
Hotel manager, Neil Doogan, said he is “delighted” with the end product.
He said: "The aim of the work was to give this historic coaching inn a new lease of life, whilst maintaining its Georgian architecture."
