A NORTH of England fuel distributor has been recognised in a high-profile list from the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).

Oil NRG features in its "1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2017" report, which celebrates some of the fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK.

Jeremy Royle, sales director, said the company was delighted to have been recognised. "It is a significant achievement for Oil NRG," he said. "We are the only oil distributor to be included. As an independent bulk fuel distributor here in the North-East of England, it is testament to the outstanding hard work, experience and professionalism of our whole team.

"The recent development of our Yorkshire depot, and our winning a place on the North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO) solution for Liquid Fuels has also allowed us to demonstrate our capabilities to customers across the North-East.

"We will continue to build on this success and will ensure that our work for our customers delivers wider benefits to the local economy in terms of employment, supply chain and environmental factors."

Oil NRG has depots on Teesside, Tyneside and Yorkshire, and is one of 32 North East companies in the report.

Xavier Rolet, chief executive of the London Stock Exchange Group, said: "These companies are the very heart of an 'anti-fragile' economy – more robust, more flexible and less prone to boom and bust. We must ensure we continue to do all we can to support high growth potential businesses like these."

Oil NRG’s overall business has continued to grow significantly, helped by continued investment in customer service, communications, vehicles, fleet technology and personnel.

An independently run fuel supply and distribution business, it was incorporated in 2007 and is now run from its head office in Stockton.

It has depots in Stockton, Hartlepool, Birtley and Elvington, and distributes domestic, commercial and agricultural fuels from its fleet of 33 vehicles across County Durham, Humberside, North Lincolnshire, Northumberland, The Vale of York, Teesside and Tyneside.
