AN AWARD-WINNING pump distributor and manufacturer is in the running for two national awards.

Tomlinson Hall, of Billingham, has been shortlisted in the Distributor of the Year category in the Pump Industry Awards 2017, and Mark Wright, its business support manager, is a finalist in the Engineer of the Year title at the awards ceremony, which is organised by the British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA).

The firm is the only North-East company in the finals which take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire, on March 23. The winners will be chosen by an online vote coupled with a ranking by the award judges.

A joint-founding member of the Pump Distributors Association, Tomlinson Hall is an approved global distributor of many leading pump brands and offers a total service to industry – from pump selection and supply, site visits, problem solving, servicing and repairs.

It also manufactures its own innovative liquid ring vacuum pump, Liquivac, which can perform operations across industries including seawater extraction, land remediation, chemical processing, food and drink processing and utilities.

Last year, it also rolled out Energy Check Reports with Grundfos Pumps, which help customers make significant energy savings on their pump systems.

Colin Simpson, business development director at Tomlinson Hall, said: "Over the last year, we’ve enhanced our capabilities, rolled out innovative new services such as Energy Check Reports, built on our relationships with regional networks and reinforced our commitment to staff training and development. We believe this has all played a significant part in Tomlinson Hall being named a finalist in the Distributor of the Year category.

"Mark, meanwhile, has used his expertise to further improve our services – including maintenance and consultancy – for the benefit of our clients. We’re delighted to see him make the finals in the Engineer of the Year category."
