A FAMILY-RUN luxury hotel has received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the second year running.

Rudby Hall in Hutton Rudby, near Stokesley, is a former royal residence dating back to the 19th Century. It opened in September 2014 and has 13 suites and extensive wedding, corporate and events facilities set in 10 acres of land with lawns reaching the River Leven.

Martin and Sandra Johnson run the hall themselves and have lived on site with their family for 12 years. The grade 2 listed Georgian hall underwent a £250,000 renovation project over the last three years

Mrs Johnson said: "We’re really delighted to have clinched this award every year since we opened as it really does emphasise our highest commitment to standards and service.

"We’re still classed as a relatively new business so to achieve this number of excellent reviews on TripAdvisor is very encouraging and we’re grateful to our guests who submit their thoughts about what we do."

The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality, quantity and recent dates of reviews submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period.

To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
