TWO well-known Wensleydale businesses have launched a new food partnership.

The Wensleydale Creamery has joined forces with Brymor Ice Cream to offer a unique Yorkshire Wensleydale & Ginger Cheesecake ice cream, to be sold at its popular visitor centre in Hawes.

The ice cream is made with whole milk from Jervaulx-based Brymor’s own herd of pedigree Guernsey cows and double cream, which is combined with Yorkshire Wensleydale & Ginger cheese and a biscuit crumble.

The creamery has opened an ice cream shop at its visitor centre, exclusively selling a range of Brymor’s Guernsey ice cream flavours, alongside the Yorkshire Wensleydale & Ginger Cheesecake ice cream.

A Brymor ice cream sundae menu has also been added to the centre's 1897 Coffee Shop & Calvert’s Restaurant.

Sandra Bell, marketing manager at the creamery, said: "We’re delighted to be linking up with another proud Yorkshire dairy producer, Brymor, to create this unique flavoured ice cream."

Nicola Moore, operations director of Brymor, said: "Brymor is known for its great taste and choice of flavours, and we are looking forward to helping bring the great taste of Yorkshire Wensleydale & Ginger Cheesecake ice cream to customers at The Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre, and at our Brymor Ice Cream Parlour at High Jervaulx too."
