THE Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes has launched a new luxury "Yorkshire Yogurt" range.

The yogurt uses Yorkshire milk and features a fruit layer, available in four flavours – strawberry and raspberry; lemon curd; rhubarb and vanilla; and toffee apple.

David Hartley, managing director of The Wensleydale Creamery, said: "We spotted a clear gap in the market for a luxury Yorkshire Yogurt range with a focus on premium quality and a naturally creamy taste.

"The Wensleydale Creamery is a trusted dairy brand which is renowned for quality and great taste. We are following on from the success of our award winning Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese, and more recently butter, which has been well received by consumers in the wider dairy category."

The yogurt was launched at Yorkshire County Cricket Club which the creamery partners, and is on sale in Asda stores and independent farm shops, delis, and the Wensleydale Creamery visitor centre.

The yogurt sector is forecast to be worth £2.1bn by 2018.
