A NORTH Yorkshire artisan producer of an award-winning rapeseed oil has chosen the fifth Farm Shop and Deli Show, at the NEC in Birmingham, from April 20 to 22, to launch its latest venture.

Adam and Jennie Palmer, who live on a 200-acre farm, at North Breckenholm Farm, in Thixendale, near Malton, established Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil in 2008. They press, bottle and label their own oil at the farm, which is also home to 600 breeding ewes.

Their new project, Charlie & Ivy's, is a range of 17 British rapeseed oil-based gourmet dipping oils, dressings and mayonnaise designed for home entertaining.

Adam Palmer said that the idea for Charlie & Ivy's evolved as they experimented with their favourite ingredients and flavours:

"We've always enjoyed different bread dippers when eating out or when entertaining at home, so we decided to share some of our favourite home-made bread dipper combinations, but ready mixed for convenience."

They use their award-winning British cold-pressed extra virgin rapeseed oil to create their range of six "Deliciously Delightful" bread dippers, which includes Garlic, Oregano & Balsamic; Rosemary, Thyme & Lemon with Red Wine Vinegar; and Chilli, Ginger & Garlic.

In addition to dipping, the oils can be added to pasta and pizza or drizzled on salads, and are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Each 200ml bottle costs £6, or the full range is available in a presentation box, costing £35.

The new brand is named after the Palmers' two children, Charlie, four, and Ivy, one.

They have won numerous awards for the quality of their products, including Two Gold Stars at the 2013 Great Taste Awards for Natural Rapeseed Oil.
