A MART record of 4,300gns was set at Bentham Auction on Saturday at the annual sale of working and unbroken sheepdogs.
Shaun Richards, of Eldroth, near Settle, ran his unregistered 18 month black and white dog Rock on some strong and uneasy mule hoggs, which displayed a good outrun and plenty of power.
The dog attracted interest from home and abroad and was finally knocked down at 4,300gns (4,515) to US buyer Robert Fleming of San Anselmo, California
