Police have pinpointed 32 locations that will be patrolled by speed vans following numerous complaints over drivers unsafely using stretches of road in the areas.

Following concerns from residents, North Yorkshire Police say they will be conducting increased speed enforcement checks over the coming months.

During the summer months, police say they see an influx of visitors to the area, which can also lead to an increase in collisions on the roads of the region.

This comes after a recent check identified two drivers who were travelling well over the speed limit.

The first was clocked at 43mph in a 30mph zone on Leyburn Road in Catterick Garrison.
